Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)

What is Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)?

SFMA is an assessment tool where trained professionals, who have competently completed at least level 1 continuing education training, are able to use a movement based diagnostic system to help find the cause of the pain, not just the source. This is performed by breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns in a structured and repeatable assessment, known as regional interdependence – how unrelated problems are actually driving the dysfunction. This assessment can be applied to any type of patient.
