Sallie Gurganus, PA-C

Sallie’s Mission: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though working for the Lord and not men. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” –Colossians 3:23-24

Originally from North Carolina, Sallie joined the Cornerstone Orthopaedics team in the summer of 2014 and is Dr. Ian Weber’s Physician Assistant (PA). She was first introduced to the practice as a PA student on rotations. “I was visiting from North Carolina for six weeks and fell in love with the state, and was very impressed by the practice,” Sallie said.

Prior to Cornerstone Orthopaedics, Sallie earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Physiology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina (USC) in 2010. While at USC, Sallie was a scholarship athlete and two-time captain of the Track and Field team. Following her undergraduate career, she worked in a hospital and at an orphanage in Cusco, Peru. In 2014, Sallie received a Master of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest School of Medicine in North Carolina. She belongs to the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants, and is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In 2016, she also completed a Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Skills Course.

When Sallie is not working, she enjoys being outside as much as possible, whether she’s playing volleyball at the park, rock climbing, skiing, or hiking with her husband and Bernese Mountain Dog, Lucie. “If I do find myself stuck inside, I will likely be baking up some delicious desserts!” Sallie said.
