Lauren MacTaggart, MD
Biography
Originally from Seattle, WA, Dr. MacTaggart joined Cornerstone Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in 2019 after completing advanced training in hand and upper extremity surgery. She specializes in the full range of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions and offers the latest treatments, including fracture care, microvascular surgery, nerve decompression, repair or reconstruction, fusions and replacements, bracing, injections, and arthroscopy. Dr. MacTaggart is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Academy of Hand Surgery.
Prior to working at Cornerstone, Dr. MacTaggart graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, where she also played on the women’s soccer team. She attended medical school at The University of Washington, graduating Magna Cum Laude and was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. After medical school, Dr. MacTaggart completed her residency training at The University of Washington in Seattle, WA. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center/Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.
Outside of the office and operating room, Dr. MacTaggart enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, and the Colorado sunshine. She and her husband are easy to find at the local dog parks with their spotted Great Dane, Luna.
