Gene Cook, PA-C | PA to Dr. Daniel Possley

“My aim is to be an uplifting, positive influence on the people I meet.  I choose to treat my patients as if they were part of my family.” – Gene Cook, PA-C

Gene joined Cornerstone orthopedics in July of 2020 as Dr Possley’s Physician Assistant. He has been a provider over multiple different locations in the last 11 years, focusing on Spine and Neurosurgery.

He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Zoology as his original plan was to pursue becoming a veterinarian. However, he quickly realized treating people was where his true desire lay. He spent a few years working at a hospital and skilled nursing facility as a CNA while returning to Colorado State to complete his prerequisites for PA school. He graduated from University of Colorado Denver CHA/PA program in 2009 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.

Gene was born to a military family with the motto instilled at an early age, “Home is where the Air Force sends you”. His father was born and raised in Steamboat Springs so Colorado always felt like the closest thing to home and thus why he chose to establish here after graduating from high school. He loves the atmosphere, the dedication to the environment and healthy living that abounds in Colorado.

Gene is married with two children that consume the majority of his attention outside of work. When he isn’t chauffeuring them off to soccer, basketball, piano, dance, etc., he loves to play outdoor volleyball, fish, skiing and attend concerts at Red Rocks.
