Erika joined the Cornerstone Orthopaedics team in 2007 and is the Physician Assistant (PA) to Dr. Thomas Eickmann. She belongs to the American Academy of Physician Assistants and recently earned her recertification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, which must be completed every 10 years.
Prior to Cornerstone Orthopaedics, she graduated from the University of New England with a Master’s of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2004. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado in 1997. Prior to PA school, she worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, Nurse Aide, Medical Transcriptionist, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, and Surgical Technologist. Each of these experiences provided skills and knowledge that have helped her through her education and as a PA-C.
Erika has completed three medical missions: two in Mugonero, Rwanda and one in Iquitos, Peru. She has also contributed to the Journal of Knee Surgery. In her free time, Erika enjoys biking, skiing, playing tennis, and enjoying the Colorado sunshine.
