Biography

Dr. William J. Ciccone II, a fellowship-trained orthopedic specialist in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, joined Cornerstone Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2010. He is actively involved in the academic community by serving on various committees and reviewing research for nationally recognized orthopedic journals and is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. He was named a “Master in Shoulder Arthroscopy” by the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). With this distinguished ranking, Dr. Ciccone instructs surgeons and residents in advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques. He is also a clinical instructor for the University of Colorado Physician Assistant Program and Rocky Vista University.

Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Ciccone earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed his internship and residency at Pennsylvania State University, Hershey Medical Center and completed fellowship training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Ciccone’s sports medicine experience is highlighted by his previous position as the team physician for the Colorado Rockies AAA Sky Sox team, as well as medical director for the Rocky Mountain State Games, the State Games of America, and the United States Olympic Training Center events in Chula Vista, CA. He is currently a team physician for Regis University.
