Dr. Ryan C. Kruse joined Cornerstone Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in August 2018. He is fellowship-trained in Primary Care Sports Medicine, and is Board Certified in PM&R. Dr. Kruse is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Dr. Kruse received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Following his undergraduate degree, he attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, where he also graduated Magna Cum Laude. He later completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, followed by a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Iowa.
Prior to working at Cornerstone, Dr. Kruse served as a PM&R Journal Peer Reviewer, an Athletic Chair for the Mayo Fellows Association, and an Elected Representative for the Residency Didactic Restructuring Committee and Program Education Committee at the Mayo Clinic Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Rochester, MN. He was previously a Team Physician for the University of Iowa’s Football, Men’s Basketball, Gymnastics, and Women’s Field Hockey teams.
Dr. Kruse moved to Colorado with his wife, Natalie, and their dog, Dexter. They enjoy being in the outdoors as much as they can, especially spending time in the mountains. As a former college soccer player, Dr. Kruse continues to be passionate about soccer. Growing up 70 miles outside of Chicago, he is a die-hard Chicago sports fan. His other interests and hobbies include golf, woodworking, and funky socks.
